A young playwright spends his last cent to pay the rent of struggling actress in a theatrical boarding house.
Harold Lloyd is an impoverished Broadway writer while Bebe Daniels is a show girl aspiring to be a star. They live in adjacent rooms in the same boarding house, and meet when Bebe can’t make the rent. Graciously Lloyd offers to pay Bebe's rent -- with his own rent money -- and hilarity and hijinks ensue as Harold tries to keep a step ahead of the landlord.
This film is notable as Lloyd's first two-reeler featuring his "glasses character".
Bebe Daniels' fans should enjoy this film as she does very well in her role as Lloyd’s love interest. At the same time off screen she was his girl and Harold had given her an engagement ring, but Bebe decided to leave Harold for her career.
